The story · the name
Martín Herrera was an ad man in Buenos Aires who painted at night. When he discovered tattooing he had no one to practise on, so he practised on mandarin peel. The studio kept the name.
Martín is born in Mar del Plata, Argentina.
Runs the creative side of an agency in Buenos Aires: L’Oréal, MTV, Telefónica, Fox…
He paints, discovers tattooing and teaches himself on mandarins.
Tattooing in Alicante. The studio is named after the fruit that taught him.
Years on Calle Gerona and over 2,000 Instagram posts since 2016.
July: a new studio at Calle Castaños 42. Sebasinkk joins.

Born in Mar del Plata in 1976, he was a creative director in Buenos Aires before he picked up a machine. Tattooing since 2009, he paints the studio walls and is also the house piercer.

Incredible — he covered my ex’s tattoo perfectly. It was so hard to find someone who could do it, and he designed it himself so it came out this beautiful. The staff are super kind and besides tattooing you, you get a good laugh. So gentle it didn’t even hurt — you can tell he loves his work and does it from the heart. Highly recommended, I’ll be back soon.

For a tattoo, booking is best: it gives us time to prepare your design. Piercings and small tattoos without an appointment, when a chair is free — if you are in the centre, come in.
It depends on size, placement, colour and detail. Send us a photo or reference on WhatsApp, the rough size and where you want it, and we will give you a price, no strings attached.
Of course. Bring your idea, a reference or a finished design and we adapt it to your skin — or we draw it with you from scratch. Before we start, we check size and placement on your body.
Yes: cover-ups, and new details on tattoos done in other studios too. Message us with a photo of the tattoo you have.
For a tattoo, 18 or over. For a piercing, under-18s come with a parent or legal guardian and the documents to prove it.
Single-use material opened in front of you, 316L surgical-steel jewellery and sterilisation protocols that follow health regulations, for every tattoo and every piercing.
We do them, with a warning: on fingers, hands, feet and elbows the skin renews constantly and tattoos fade sooner. Touch-ups there are paid separately, as the consent form you sign says.
We explain aftercare in the studio before you leave. Following it is what matters most for good healing; if something looks off, drop by and we will check it.
